Can you imagine data being projected by light in 3d on to a median (disk like) to store you files? Well the engineers over at
Inphase-Technologies.com figured it out. Take a look at the video to better understand this. This could very well be the beginning of the end for conventional hard disk drives. However, I am sure the cost will keep it at bay for the common consumer for quite some time.
