What is the System Volume folder in XP?

What is the System Volume folder in XP?

The system volume folder is used to store the system restore information in your computer. This can be purged (safely deleted) by turning off the system restore function and then turning it back on. You can keep this file to minimum size by reducing the percentage of the system restore file size. (Return to FAQ page)
